GLOWS
trains larger groups of practitioners in short-term regional training
courses that address specific topics under the IWRM umbrella. Courses
generally involve governmental and non-governmental practitioners
facing similar problems in a common region. Our objective is to not
only train individuals but to initiate collaborations and relationships
that may grow into learning networks.
Courses are designed as continuing
education for practitioners and decision makers, introducing key issues
and tools that can be applied by participants to improve water
resources management. When possible, participants are recruited from
USAID partner organizations in order to strengthen local capacity for
IWRM. Courses are also commonly developed in cooperation with partner
organizations and with USAID Missions.
